Linguatec Voice Reader provides dubbing solution for Brockhaus

For the first time, Brockhaus multimedial premium offers MP3 functionality in its 2008 version. All lexicon articles along with the text version are now available as MP3 files. This is a total of about 2,200 hours of knowledge that can be listened to. Brockhaus chose the speech synthesis software Voice Reader from Munich-based language technology specialists Linguatec for the dubbing of its articles.

Audio is now the rage

The boom in audio media shows that there is now great interest in all things audio. With a diverse and rapidly growing range of audio books, audio magazines, pod casts, dubbed websites etc., audio is now the rage. The new speech synthesis software Voice Reader Studio from Linguatec offers a simple and professional means of converting texts to MP3 files.

Mobile added value for Brockhaus

Brockhaus is the knowledge authority in Germany. On two DVD ROMs for the most important operating systems, Brockhaus multimedia 2008 premium offers a comprehensive overview of up-to-date knowledge in 260,000 articles. All lexicon articles are now also available as MP3 files. "To be able to supply our articles as audio files is an attractive supplement to the multimedia Brockhaus package. Leaning made easy

Knowledge is important, but acquiring it should also be fun. The Brockhaus articles can be exported as MP3 files and can be played while on the move on an MP3 player. So, those people thirsty for knowledge can listen to interesting lexicon articles while they are on the go, e.g. on train journeys or jogging. And you can treat yourself to them again and again. As a study by the University of Regensburg has shown, listening is an important key qualification for learning and career-building, and the use of Voice Reader can considerably improve a person's understanding of a text. The test subjects of the study were able to retain the information that they heard 29% better than the information that they read.
