EML Speech Technology with new shareholders and management

Former EML European Media Laboratory GmbH has repositioned itself with new shareholders and a new management team. Munich-based Linguatec GmbH and Markus Klehr, Head of Product Development of EML, have acquired the company from the family of SAP cofounder Klaus Tschira. Markus Klehr and the CEO of Linguatec, Dr. Reinhard Busch, are now CEOs of EML. In order to emphasize the consequent reorientation towards speech recognition, the company now operates under the name EML Speech Technology GmbH.

EML will continue its current business activities with the same staff from the same offices as before. All customer and license contracts will remain in effect. “The new relationship with Linguatec offers us the chance to incorporate our base technology for speech recognition in speech-enabled applications and to offer more comprehensive solutions to its customers,” says CEO Markus Klehr.

Linguatec is the leading provider of language-technology software for office use in Germany. CEO Reinhard Busch is convinced “that we will bring even more expertise in speech recognition and transcription into the market than before. Many of our customers do not want to be dependent on third-party cloud providers as far as speech recognition is concerned. Instead they are looking for secure in-house solutions optimized for their needs”.
